CBCL’s Melissa Rutherford Receives National Recognition from Transportation Association of Canada (TAC)

Melissa Rutherford accepts the Individual Contribution Award from TAC, October 5, 2026.

CBCL is proud to celebrate Melissa Rutherford on receiving the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Individual Contribution Award, a national recognition that honours volunteers who demonstrate exceptional initiative, creativity, effort, and technical excellence in support of TAC councils and committees.

Since joining TAC as a volunteer in 2020, Melissa has made a significant impact through her leadership within the Environment and Climate Change Council and its committees. She began as Secretary of the Environmental Legislation Committee before serving as Chair through 2024 and recently stepped into the role of Vice-Chair of the Council. Along the way, she has organized, moderated, and presented at numerous conference sessions, helping create some of the Council’s most well-attended and engaging technical discussions. She has also contributed her expertise to the Environmental Achievement Award evaluation committee and played an important role in fostering collaboration and participation across the organization, particularly during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Melissa’s dedication to advancing environmental stewardship and knowledge sharing reflects CBCL’s commitment to shaping a more sustainable future. Her leadership within TAC not only strengthens the transportation and environmental sectors across Canada but also demonstrates the value of professional involvement, collaboration, and continuous learning. We congratulate Melissa on this well-deserved recognition and thank her for representing CBCL and our industry with excellence.
