Melanie McGrath Receives Employee Wellness Initiative of the Year Award

CBCL is proud to congratulate Melanie McGrath, General Counsel at CBCL, on receiving the Employee Wellness Initiative of the Year Award at the Canadian In-House Counsel Awards, presented by the Canadian Bar Association, In-House Lawyers. The award recognizes individuals and organizations that have successfully addressed workload stress and advanced employee well-being through meaningful workplace wellness initiatives.

As an EDIA Champion, Melanie has played a pivotal role in advancing inclusion, equity, accessibility, and psychological safety across CBCL. Through her leadership with both the Corporate Inclusion Council and the IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Support) Committee, she has helped shape a workplace culture where employees feel respected, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Under Melanie’s leadership and guidance, CBCL has continued to expand initiatives that promote employee well-being, connection, and belonging. Her contributions have supported mentorship programs, mental health and resilience education, respectful workplace training, employee resource and affinity groups, wellness challenges, volunteer initiatives, and engagement opportunities that strengthen connections across the organization.
